Factory reset the BlackBerry PlayBook

Performing a security wipe, also called a factory reset, on the BlackBerry PlayBook is a fairly straightforward process. Resetting the device to a like-new state is ideal if you want to sell your PlayBook, or if you are running into issues and want a fresh operating system install.

To completely wipe all of your information off your BlackBerry PlayBook,



follow these steps:

1. Launch the device settings menu.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Secure Wipe.
4. Type "blackberry" in the text field.
5. Press wipe data.

After pressing wipe data, your PlayBook will reboot and display the BlackBerry PlayBook logo for several minutes, depending on how much information you have on it.
Once it is finished erasing your data, you will be prompted to go through the setup process again. If you are selling the PlayBook, go ahead and power it off at that time.
